Emergence of mathematics
 
Mathematics or math has been defined as the study of quantity, structure, space, change and also includes other related topics like pattern and form. The people who study math are known as mathematicians and the seek out patterns that are evident in the space, numbers, natural science, computers, imaginary abstractions and other related factors. The mathematicians also focus on formulating new conjectures and giving evidences for their studies by rigorous in reference with the appropriately chosen axioms and definitions. There has always been a debate about the fact, whether mathematical objects exist objectively, considering the nature of their logical purity. There is also questioning if math has been manmade and detached from reality. Mathematician Benjamin Peirce had referred to mathematics as a science, which drew necessary conclusions. Albert Einstein had referred to the subject being uncertain from reality and the laws of mathematics refer to reality may not refer to reality. The mathematicians have always used abstraction and logical reasoning along with counting, calculation, measurement, etc. The focus has also been on the systematic study of the shapes and motions of physical objects. Apart from this knowledge and use of basic mathematics has been an integral and inherent part of individual and group life.
 
There have been refinements of the basic ideas in mathematical texts, which had originated ancient Mesopotamian, Indian, Chinese, and Egyptian, Greek and Islamic worlds. There are lots of arguments about mathematics that had appeared in Greek mathematics and were focused on Euclid's Elements. During the renaissance period of the 16th century the innovations of this subject had interacted with new scientific discoveries. This led to acceleration in research which has been continuing till date. At present mathematics is used throughout the world as an essential tool in most fields of studies and these include social sciences like economy and psychology along with the fields of natural science, engineering, medicine, etc. The applied mathematics is known as the branch of mathematics where application of mathematical knowledge to other fields is considered. This form of mathematics inspires the use of new mathematical discoveries and also helps in developing an entirely new discipline. There are various other divisions of mathematics and the subject had emerged first to do calculations in commerce and try and establish the relation between numbers for measuring land and predicting astronomical events. Hence mathematics was known as the study of quantity, structure, space, and changes, which are known, reflected in arithmetic, algebra, geometry, and analysis. The sub division of math includes logic, foundations, applied mathematics and also the rigorous study of uncertainty.
